British Transport Police have launched an urgent witness appeal following a violent encounter on the Elizabeth line platform at Whitechapel Underground station.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 am on Monday, 29 June, when a Transport for London staff member approached a passenger who was actively using an e-cigarette on the platform. Vaping remains strictly prohibited across all TfL stations and services. Upon being reminded of the network rules and asked to extinguish the device, the individual reacted with sudden aggression.
