At least 12 people have been killed and several others injured following a deadly shooting at the Jumpers Informal Settlement in Cleveland, Johannesburg, late Tuesday night.
According to local authorities, the attack occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. when unidentified gunmen opened fire on residents in the densely populated settlement. Emergency services and police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of multiple gunshots.
Officials confirmed that 12 victims were pronounced dead, while several injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact number of wounded has not yet been officially released.
