A section of Heathrow Airport was evacuated on Monday evening after concerns over a potential hazardous substance, according to the London Fire Brigade.

The incident led to the closure and evacuation of the check-in area at Terminal 4, a Heathrow spokesperson confirmed. Officials described the move as a precaution while emergency crews assessed the situation.

Passengers were urged not to travel to Terminal 4, and large crowds were seen waiting outside.

Operations at the airport’s other terminals continued without disruption.
