In a significant development for Bangladesh's political landscape, the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, is scheduled to participate in his final political engagement with party leaders and activists in the United Kingdom before his much-anticipated return home. This concluding event is set to be a discussion marking Bangladesh's Great Victory Day, held on December 16th.Before his return home, he will formally take the stage one last time to address the activists, offering directional guidance, Daily Dazzling Dawn realized.
Sources indicate that the high-profile meeting will take place at the City Pavilion in London on Tuesday, December 16th, commencing at 5 PM. Mr. Rahman will attend as the chief guest. Selim Ahmed, Assistant Office Secretary for the UK BNP, confirmed the details on Sunday afternoon, stating that the event is an initiative organized by the UK chapter of the BNP to commemorate Victory Day.
The move marks the culmination of Mr. Rahman's time in the UK. According to internal reports, party members are preparing for an emotional farewell, planning to bid him goodbye as he travels from his Kingston residence in London to Heathrow Airport on December 24th.
In preparation for the event, both the President and General Secretary of the UK BNP, M. A. Malik and Qaiser M. Ahmed, respectively, departed from Bangladesh on Sunday to preside over and manage the December 16th program. Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Vice President of the UK BNP, noted that the event was originally scheduled for Monday, but due to Mr. Rahman's agreement to attend as Chief Guest, the organizers shifted it to Tuesday to accommodate a larger venue.
This gathering is expected to serve as the official farewell ceremony between Mr. Rahman and the party’s UK contingent. Due to time constraints, no separate events are planned for the wider community or other dignitaries.
