Several parts of the internet have gone offline due to a major technical issue at Cloudflare.
Users trying to access sites including X (formerly Twitter) and the movie review platform Letterboxd were met with error messages stating that Cloudflare’s system problems were preventing pages from loading.
Cloudflare provides essential internet infrastructure, offering services that defend websites against cyberattacks and help them remain accessible during high traffic surges.
In a recent statement, the company confirmed: “Cloudflare is aware of an issue that may be affecting multiple customers and is currently investigating. We will share more details as they become available.”
Even Down Detector, the site that tracks online outages, experienced disruptions. When it did load, it displayed a sharp increase in reported issues.
Many affected users encountered an alert saying there was an “internal server error on Cloudflare’s network” and were advised to “try again in a few minutes.”
