The Bangladeshi community has made an important impact on British culture over the past century, and particularly in recent decades. I am proud to serve a strong Bangladeshi community in my constituency of Croydon West, who help to make the borough what it is today.
I am also especially proud that Croydon West is home to the Daily Dazzling Dawn, the first fully fledged, Bangladeshi-owned, English daily news publication that is online-first.
In today’s modern world, technology is reshaping how media is consumed, and many news outlets face difficulty staying afloat in the face of so many competing channels. At the same time, independent, thorough, and accurate journalism is more important than ever, with responsible media outlets providing trustworthy news sources amongst a huge amount of misinformation.
That’s why the Daily Dazzling Dawn is a cause for celebration. In just two years, the paper has really made its mark, cultivating a strong voice and providing an important news source for its readers. In that relatively short space of time, the paper is now reaching over 20,000 online readers on many days each month.
A massive congratulations to all those at the Daily Dazzling Dawn for an impressive achievement – and well done to all the readers who have supported it along the journey! I look forward to continuing to follow along.
