Bangladeshi Woman Missing for 22 Days, Police Search Intensifies

Concerns are growing for the safety of Qazi Safiyyah Mehmood, a 21-year-old Bangladeshi woman who has been missing from her Morningside home for 22 days, with police yet to locate her. It's confirmed, the search for Qazi remains active, as Police Scotland continues to appeal to the public for information.

Qazi was last seen at approximately 11 am on Wednesday, April 30, on Myreside Road, near The Pavillion. Despite extensive efforts by authorities, her whereabouts remain unknown, casting a shadow of worry over her family and friends.

Police in Edinburgh are urging anyone with information to come forward. Qazi is described as 5ft 2 inches tall, of medium build, with long black hair, and of Bangladeshi ethnicity. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black puffer jacket, black leggings, black trainers, and carrying a black handbag.

Investigators have also highlighted that Qazi is known to frequent various areas across the UK, including Edinburgh, Manchester, London, and Argyle and Bute. This wider geographical reach suggests she may have traveled beyond the immediate Edinburgh area, and police are urging vigilance in these locations.

A Police Scotland spokesperson has reiterated their appeal for public assistance, stating: "We would ask anyone who has seen her or knows where she might be to get in touch. Also, for Qazi herself to contact family, friends or Police Scotland."

The public is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3197 of 30/04/25, with any information that could aid in locating Qazi Safiyyah Mehmood. The police are also directly appealing to Qazi to make contact, assuring her that her family and friends are concerned for her well-being.
